DISCOVER THE CAVIAR OF THE GIRONDE AND THE DUNE OF PYLA

9 am: Participants meet at the Palais des Congres of Arcachon 

Visit the tallest dune of Europe, the Dune of Pyla. From its peak at 115m, it offers an exceptional, panoramic view of the Atlantic ocean, Arcachon bay and the vast Landes forest. Our local guide will share with you the history of this unique site.

After visiting the Dune, departure for the visit of The Caviar.

The Caviar of the Gironde. This is a family business and the first caviar business in France. It was established in 1993, and has become a must-see visit. Rare and savory, Gironde caviar is ranked just after Béluga.

Visit the hatchery, discussion about reproduction and the production of caviar.

Visit ends with a tasting: caviar served on toast, accompanied by rosé wine.

Return to Arcachon.

Wednesday, September 21st - 9.00 am to 12.00 am

VISIT OF THE « WINTER TOWN » BY FOOT

Visit the « Winter Town » of Arcachon with its splendid 19th century villas in the middle of pines. The Winter Town constitutes an outstanding cluster of large and magnificent bourgeois villas nestled in a vegetal ocean.

And ... Visit the Oyster Port

The port of La Teste is, since 1884, one of the most important oyster farming complexes of the Basin. Visitors will be impressed by its size, the number of boats moored, as well as by the many sheds of the oyster farmers, built on the dikes. Another original feature of the oyster port of La Teste is the very narrow lock, in which some oyster farmers have to actually throw themselves y, to be able to reach their oyster banks.

Wednesday, September 21st - 4.00 pm to 11.30 pm (return after the Gala Dinner)

BORDEAUX CITY

Registration only for the participant going to the Gala Dinner

4 pm : Participants meet at the Palais des Congres of Arcachon

Visit old Bordeaux on foot accompanied by a guide-lecturer:

Notre-DameChurch(17th and 18th centuries), the Grand-Théâtre (18th century), the Place de la Bourse (formerly the Place Royale, 18th century), the Saint-Pierre quarter, the old city gate Porte Cailhau (15th Century), and the Grosse Cloche or Great Bell gate (the former belfry of the town hall), the Palais Rohan and the Cathedral.

After the walking tour, there will be free time for shopping.

Return to Arcachon at 11.30 pm

DISCOVER THE BASSIN D’ARCACHON

Depart from the Arcachon pier for a boat ride around the Bassin d’Arcachon.

Boat ride takes us around Ile aux Oiseaux (bird island), the “Tchanquées” cabins on stilts and the oyster farms.

Stop at the village of Canon, an oyster farming community lovingly preserved and classified as a protected site. This picturesque site is where the traditional trades of fishing and oyster farming continue to flourish. Raw oyster tasting with white wine at an oyster. farm.

Return to Arcachon by boat
